I don’t know about you, but I actually like making dinner. Or at least I like making dinner as long as I have an idea.

Casserole, hot dish or bake?
The terms casserole, hot dish and bake can all be used interchangeably to mean the same thing. Most consist of a starch, sauce and protein together.
Some have cheese or a crunchy topping on top and a lot of them have a vegetable mixed in. Many are a full meal in one dish, though most would be best served with a simple salad or veggie on the side.
Why are casseroles so wonderful?
In addition to being a whole meal in one dish, there are other benefits to casseroles. For instance, most can be assembled ahead of time and baked later.
Some can even be assembled and frozen, then baked later. That way you can batch your work and have easy dinners for later.
Of course the fact they can be prepped ahead makes them ideal for delivering food for new parents or a thinking of your delivery. Or just make it ahead for your own family so you have a home cooked meal on a busy night!
