Nothing warms you up on a cold day quite like a bowl of soup. These lovely soup recipes run the gamut from light and healthy to rich and creamy. The thing they all share in common is they bring layers of flavor and texture that are sure to win your taste buds over.

A pot of soup is is like serving a warm hug. There are so many different kinds of soup, but they all bring with them a sense of warmth and comfort.

These recipes are some of our absolute favorites. There is bound to be something here for almost any occasion.

There are soups made in the instant pot, some made in slow cookers and some made on the stove. There are creamy chowders that will fill you up, and brothy soups that will make you feel better when you need something light.

Creamy cheese soups will stick to your ribs, and soups with some spice if you are ready to feel the heat. If you enjoy a hearty chili, there are options for that as well.

What to Serve With Soup

A bowl of any of these soups is fabulous on its own. They make for a great start to the meal or they can be the meal themselves.

If you want to add a little extra freshness, you can serve a bowl of soup with a green salad. Then you can have a healthy meal with a mix of crunch and comfort.

A little fresh bread is also wonderful with a bowl of any of these. You can make homemade corn muffins, hard cider bread, or even loaded cornbread without a ton of effort.

All are quick breads that rely on leaveners like baking soda or baking powder to get the rise. So there is no yeast or rising.

If you have the time to proof some dough, there are great yeast breads to make as well. Homemade crescent rolls, or sourdough discard crescent rolls are great options.

Three day rolls are another favorite, you can make the dough up to three days in advance. Or homemade hawaiian rolls that have some pineapple inside for a little extra sweetness.

Most of America names chicken noodle soup as their favorite. It is perfect for when you are not feeling well, or when you just need something hot and tasty. The best part is, it is relatively easy to make and can be customized so many ways.
