This creamy potato soup mix in a jar has everything inside of it already. So, all you have to do is add hot water and your soup is ready to go. This easy homemade mix is great to have in your pantry for a quick meal or give it as a gift this holiday season.

This easy to make potato soup mix has a lot of flavor packed inside. It is super affordable to make, too.

So, you can make quite a bit at once without breaking the bank. From there, the uses are about endless.

It is great for taking to work for a quick and easy lunch. If you have a kettle at work, you can have a bowl of soup in no time.

The soup mix would also work great for backpacking or camping. Or maybe give a jar of mix to a busy teacher or tired new mom.

Because it has powdered milk in addition to the potato flakes, the soup is nice and creamy. The chicken bouillon granules and herbs add a really nice flavor.

You can skip the turmeric if you want. It adds a touch of flavor and also a nice yellow color that makes the soup look extra buttery and delicious.

We eat with our eyes first. So, it makes it look more inviting.

The potato soup is great on its own. However, if you are home and have a little bit of shredded cheese or a dollop of sour cream, go wild!

Creamy Potato Soup Mix In A Jar

This easy to make creamy potato soup mix is great to have on hand for when you want a comforting meal with no effort later. Just add hot water and you are ready to eat! The mix also makes a great gift.

Ingredients 

To Make Mix

  • 2 cups instant potato flakes
  • cup powdered milk
  • 2 Tablespoons chicken bouillon granules
  • 3 teaspoons dehydrated minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric optional
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt

To Make Soup

  • 1 cup potato soup mix
  • 1½-2 cups boiling water

Instructions 

Making The Mix

  • Put all of the mix ingredients in a large bowl. Stir to combine.
  • Spoon the mix into 1 quart jar, 2 pint jars, 4 cup sized jars or even plastic baggies. Include the directions to make the soup.
  • Store the soup mix in a cool, dry place until ready to use.

Making The Soup

  • Place 1 cup of soup mix in a bowl.
  • Pour about 1½ cups of boiling water over the soup mix and stir to combine. Add more water as desired to get the consistency you want.
  • The soup is great on its own, but is also good topped with shredded cheese or a dollop of sour cream. Bacon bits would also be a great topping.
