Luckily, with this mix in a jar, making the cookies at home is super simple. You can make a bunch of these mixes at once and have cookies whenever you would like.

Gifts, Parties and Misc.Or make them with cute tags and pretty ribbons for fun gifts. Nobody turns down the gift of easy homemade cookies!

Carlee’s Tips

  • You can rough chop the macadamia nuts a bit before putting them in the jar. This helps to more evenly distribute them in the cookies and helps everything to fit in the jar a little bit better.
  • Feel free to use chocolate chips instead of white chips if you want to. White are classic, but any chocolate would be delicious.
  • If you don’t have a canning funnel to help get the ingredients in the jar, you can roll up a piece of paper to make a cone.
  • You will want to pack down the layers a bit as you go to help everything to fit in the jar.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup macadamia nuts
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • cup granulated sugar
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder

To Make The Cookies

  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 jar of mix

Instructions

To Make The Mix

  • If desired, roughly chop the ¾ cup macadamia nuts and put in the bottom of the quart jar.
  • Layer the 1 cup white chocolate chips, ½ cup light brown sugar, and ⅓ cup granulated sugar on top of the nuts. Even out the layers a bit as you go to keep them all visible and looking nice in the jar.
  • In a small bowl, stir together the 1¼ cups all-purpose flour, ⅛ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon baking soda, and ½ teaspoon baking powder. Layer on top of the other ingredients in the jar.
  • Place the lid on the jar and tie a tag onto the jar with the baking instructions.
  • This cookie mix can be kept in the pantry for a few months. Or freeze the jar of mix for up to a year.

To Make The Cookies

  • Beat the ½ cup softened butter, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract together in a medium bowl.
  • Add the jar of mix and stir until you have a uniform dough.
  • For best results, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes, up to 2 days.
  • Preheat the oven to 350℉ and line cookie sheets with either parchment paper or silicone mats.
  • Place 1 Tablespoon scoops of dough (or a small cookie scoop) about 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for about 8-10 minutes.
  • Cool on the cookie sheet for a couple of minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different kinds of nuts or different kinds of chocolate chips.
