Fall has been renamed pumpkin season, or maybe pumpkin spice season! Here are some sweet and savory recipes to keep you eating pumpkin all year long. There are some Thanksgiving favorites and recipes for everyday as well.
If fall has a darling, pumpkin has to be it. There is just something about the yummy orange squash and the warm spices it is normally paired with that make you feel cozy inside.
It is great in muffins, cakes, cookies, soups, and of course pie. It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without a pumpkin pie or two.
But don’t do yourself a disservice and wait until the holidays to break out the pumpkin. It is just as delicious in March and it is in November!
Homemade Pumpkin Puree
You can make most of these recipes with canned pumpkin, or make your own pumpkin puree. If you have a food processor, it is quite easy to do.
You can freeze extra pumpkin puree to use later. So go ahead and make a bunch now so you can make baked goods and soups all fall and winter long.
Is 100% canned pumpkin the same as pumpkin puree?
Yes, these terms are used interchangeably in recipes. It may also be referred to as solid-pack pumpkin. If you look on the ingredients list on the can, the only ingredient should be pumpkin. If the recipe calls for pumpkin puree, make sure you aren’t using pumpkin pie filling, as it has extra spices that may throw off the recipe.
Now the only question is, which of these fabulous pumpkin recipes will you make first?
