Make your own white hot chocolate mix in just a few minutes with only a handful of ingredients. Then you can make creamy white hot cocoa all winter long!

Whip up your own white hot chocolate mix, it is beyond easy! It just takes a handful of ingredients and maybe ten minutes if you take your time. Then you can make creamy white hot chocolate all winter long.
A Perfect Homemade Gift
It is the perfect way to warm up on a chilly day. Or pass out jars as gifts for neighbors, friends and teachers at Christmas.
At Christmastime we like to sprinkle in edible gifts for our friends and family. They are fun to make and folks are happy to receive them.
This white hot chocolate powder makes a perfect little present because the recipient can enjoy it easily. Only a mug and hot water are required, no additional ingredients are needed.
Plus, once it has been used there is nothing to dust, no rearranging to find it a permanent home. Just pure enjoyment!

Luckily it only takes 5 simple ingredients to whip up a batch. If you have a big food processor (at least 10 cups), it only takes a few minutes as well.

This white hot chocolate pairs well with so many flavor profiles. It is great on its own, of course. It has a rich white chocolate flavor.
The traditional marshmallow topping is good, so are cute chocolate Rudolph marshmallows. Or try a little candy cane for peppermint undertones.
Feel free to experiment with a fresh grating of nutmeg. Or use this mix as a powdered coffee creamer. Wouldn’t that be amazing? It would be like an instant white chocolate mocha.

You can even use some of your homemade mix to make white hot chocolate cookies. See, the possibilities really are endless!
Well I have worked up a thirst just thinking about it. So I hope you give this yummy mix a try.
Is white chocolate just vanilla?
No, white chocolate is made with cocoa butter, sugar, milk products and a bit of vanilla. It doesn’t have chocolate solids, and doesn’t taste like chocolate, but it is different than vanilla baking chips.

Add Something Extra
We like making this white hot chocolate mix recipe as written so we can add other flavors like candy cane bits or cinnamon when we make the mug of hot cocoa. However, you can blend those extra flavors into the mix if you want.

This recipe sounds wonderful… can it be made with Stevia?
I haven’t tried it, but I can’t see why not.
I haven’t made it yet. But this weekend is the best time. The white chocolate bar I’ve eaten before and was so good. The hot white chocolate will be so so good.
I can’t wait for you to try it!
I’ve seen online where you can buy White Chocolate mix. The label states it’s already sweetened so would you still add the other ingredients listed here or is that mix pretty well already made and ready for drinking?
I would assume that it is pretty much ready to make and drink, but it is hard saying without seeing it.
OMG!!!!I loooove this recipe!!!I was googling if I can mix cocoa with hot chocolate mix and I found this recipe.I live in Johannesburg, South africa and I was double-minded about buying the white chocolate mix or if I buy it…how to make it stretch! Hot choc mixes are very expensive here and white hot choc mixes are even MORE expensive particularly because they are VERY scarce.I have all these ingredients at home AND I AM SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!Moreover,I love the fact that I can control the amount of sugar in my mix!
This is perfect then, I am so glad you found it! I have a recipe for regular hot chocolate mix as well, so hopefully that helps.
I’ve made white hot chocolate for years but never thought of doing it as a dry mix until today and found your recipe as I searched. I’m so excited to try this. I also add a little cinna and tiny bit of nutmeg and a little orange zest to mine for a holiday twist.
Oooh, that sounds delicious!
How long can this be stored?
It is good for several months in an airtight container in the pantry or a cabinet. Just keep it cool and dry.
What is a serving? How many calories in 1 Tablespoon?
One serving is about 4T of mix. So there would be about 500 calories per serving.
I have been looking for a white chocolate recipe for some time now as I have a friend who cannot have chocolate as she has a heart condition the prevents it. Anyway, she also has an intolerance to milk. I am wondering if the recipe would work without using the milk powder and just have the recipients use milk instead of water to make their hot beverage? Let me know what you think about this. Thank you.
I would think that would work. She could use a plant based milk to make it instead of water and it would still be great. Otherwise it looks like there are dairy free milk powders available as well. I’d love to hear how it goes.
@Jodie, all white chocolate bars are already made with milk in it. You’d have to look for a vegan white chocolate.
Hi, love the recipe thank you for sharing!
I was wondering if I could add a small amount of food coloring powder to it to make different colors?
I’m wanting to use this recipe for hot cocoa bombs for Christmas and thought it would be fun to make some red and some green! 🙂
I can’t see why not. I think I would use gel food coloring to keep the moisture content as low as possible, or even powdered coloring if you have it. That would be a blast!
Can you use powdered heavy cream? Would that be in Dictionary.com to the milk or replace? I wanted to Make it creamier.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen powdered heavy cream but that sounds amazing! It would be a great replacement for some or all of the dried milk.
