These fun ham and cheese rolls take the classic ham and cheese sandwich to a fun new level. Make the honey mustard dipping sauce to bring it all together. Whether you need a fun new lunch idea or a hearty savory appetizer or snack, these will surely do the trick.

Ham and cheese rollups are like a hot ham and cheese sandwich in a fun pinwheel form. They are great served warm, but are also fabulous cold or at room temperature.
Put a few in a lunchbox along with a little dipping sauce for a fun treat. Or you could bake some today and put the extras in the freezer for another day. The possibilities are endless!
It just seems like a ham and cheese sandwich in a lunchbox is a right of passage. In fact, my husband still packs a ham and cheese sandwich in his lunchbox almost every day.

Sometimes he’ll ask for some turkey or I’ll surprise him with pastrami. But the vast majority of time it is the good ol’ ham and cheese on white bread with a bit of mayo and mustard. He is definitely a creature of habit.
On the other hand, I want to play to much with my food. So the idea of a ham and cheese sandwich every day is enough to drive me crazy.
But that doesn’t mean that ham and cheese sandwiches are bad. It just means that I want to change it up every now and then.
These baked ham and cheese rolls are a way to get that same basic flavor but in a much more fun package.

Can you imagine your kid opening their lunch expecting to see and sandwich and finding these rolls instead? To make it even more fun, include some honey mustard dipping sauce.
After all, a good dipping sauce can make anything more fun and adds another layer of flavor.
If hot lunch is more your kids’ speed, that’s ok. There are plenty of chances to make them anyway. They make for a fun dinner fresh from the oven.
They are a great snack as well. You can make a bunch at once and freeze them for after school snacks. That way getting over the homework hump is a little easier.

You can make them with your favorite pizza crust recipe. You could also make them with sourdough pizza crust or your favorite pizza dough recipe.
If the idea of baking with yeast scares you, you really should give it a try. It is fun!
If that’s a hurdle you aren’t interested in jumping right now, feel free to pick up some frozen bread dough or pizza dough at the grocery store. Then you can have these made in no time!
How to Store Ham and Cheese Pinwheels
You can store baked ham and cheese pinwheels in either the fridge or the freezer. You can reheat them or serve the pinwheels cold, they are good either way!
IN THE FRIDGE: You can store baked ham and cheese rollups in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
IN THE FREEZER: To freeze ham and cheese pinwheels, cool completely and place in an airtight container. They will be good for a couple of months. Just defrost one or two in the fridge overnight or warm them up in the microwave before eating.

Those look so good! I am definitely going to make these for the grandkids next time they are here. Pinning for later.
Thank you!! I am sure they will love them.
Awesome and quick meal idea! Love this!
Thanks, Kelly!
These look so good, but I don't see ham listed in the ingredients, what am I missing?
You are right, I somehow missed that. I used about 8 oz. of thin sliced ham. I will fix that, thanks for letting me know!
These ham and cheese rolls look delicious!! I especially like that they are served with dipping sauce. This is what I would rather bring for lunch instead of my usual yogurt or protein shake with a banana or dried fruit/nuts. Boring!
Yogurt, fruit and nuts is always good too! But it is nice to switch things up every now and again!
These look amazing. I love finger foods and things that are dippable. Will give these a try soon.
Being able to dip and eat with your hands instantly make things more fun! Thanks, Camilla!
Oh my gosh, these look absolutely wonderful. This is my kind of sandwich! I think that my husband and children that take lunches to work would be thrilled with this for a sandwich. Thank you for sharing.
Aren't they a fun change to the traditional sandwich. You could do a lot of flavor combinations too to keep them interesting!
I think they would be great on an appetizer table at my next pool party.
They would be so much fun at a pool party! What a great idea!
I love finger foods like this! I think I'll make these for lunch this weekend! The boys would love them! Have a great weekend sweet friend!
I hope they do! I hope your sale is going swimmingly!
These sound perfect for lunchboxes, and tasty too!
Thank you!
Food on sticks and anything with dipping sauce are the best! These look delicious and would also be perfect for game day!
It is funny how something so simple automatically makes the food more fun. Sauces and sticks are both easy enough to come by! Maybe next time I should bake these on sticks and serve them as lollipops!! 😉
