Chocolate Dump Cake

Are you looking for an easy and delicious fudgy dessert? If you are, this 5 ingredient chocolate dump cake recipe is for you. It only takes a few minutes to put together, and the results are rich and decadent.

Looking down on a serving of chocolate dump cake topped with whipped cream, chocolate chips, and chopped nuts next to the pan it was baked in.

As the name implies, the ingredients for this cake are just dumped into the pan before they are baked. Unlike some dump cakes, this one is best if you do give it a quick stir.

However, it is quick and easy, and there is no mixer required. It literally just takes a couple of minutes of prep time, and the resulting dessert is fabulous.

We think the chocolate dump cake is best served warm. It is ooey, gooey, and fudgy that way. Of course, a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream never hurt or a dollop of whipped cream.

You could even take it to the next level and drizzle it with a bit of hot fudge sauce or some gooey caramel sauce. Though it is perfectly wonderful without all of the extras.

Change it up

You can easily switch up the flavors by changing the add-ins as well. Peanut butter chips would be fabulous, or you could add some chopped walnuts or pecans if you are in to that sort of thing.

Storage

While this cake is best fresh from the oven, the leftovers are still wonderful. Just cover the leftover dump cake and store it at room temperature for up to three days.

When you are ready for more, scoop some onto a plate and pop it in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up again. It will be almost as good as new!

If you make homemade whipped cream, it can also be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Just give it a quick re-whip before serving.
