Super creamy homemade orange ice cream is going to be a new summer favorite dessert. It is cold, refreshing and has the perfect combination of orange and vanilla with a cream cheese twist!

It’s ice cream season! This smooth, creamy homemade ice cream has all of the flavor of an orange creamsicle and a cheesecake all mashed up into one delicious bowl of citrusy goodness.
I just love the way the vanilla, orange and cream cheese come together.
There is nothing like cooling off with a bowl of homemade ice cream. There is just something extra special about knowing that you made it.
Plus there is the added benefit of being able to combine any flavors you like.

I thought it would be fun to turn our favorite orange creamsicle no bake cheesecake into an ice cream flavor.

I am so glad I went for it! I think the cream cheese really helps to give an extra creaminess to the base.
In addition to the bit of tang, it gives the ice cream a smooth texture that is creamy scoopable almost immediately from the freezer.
Of course there needs to be orange in a creamsicle ice cream. I wanted to make sure there was plenty of flavor, but didn’t want to add too much liquid.

I was worried orange juice itself would form too many ice crystals in the ice cream and I wanted a really smooth final texture.
Using frozen orange juice concentrate allowed me to add a ton of orange flavor without too much water. It really worked perfectly if I do say so myself!

Ice cream and cheesecake? How can it not be good!
It can't not be!
I would first make watermelon lime sorbet, sounds so refreshing in this heat!
Yum! That sounds delicious!
I would make all kinds of ice cream. I love to experiment!
Me too! Good luck!
I would make peach ice cream.

This looks incredible Carlee. Orange Creamsicle is so good. I found orange creamsicle twizzlers at walmart a while back and they were the best candy ever. 🙂 Hope your summer is going well!
Thank you so much! Now I am sad I missed those twizzlers!
What a fun idea for a flavor, looks lovely and creamy.
Thank you!
The ice cream sound wonderful!
Thank you!
I have always loved the orange creamsicle! That and the strawberry shortcake bar. 🙂 I need to win this because I haven't made homemade ice cream since my son took his ice cream maker back. lol (that was well over 2 years ago!) First thing I would make would be a keto friendly ice cream so I can eat it!
The strawberry shortcake bars were one of my favorites too! Good luck!
If I won I would make vanilla bean ice cream.
Always one of my favorites as well!
The best ice cream I ever had was Coconut Cake flavor. It was coconut ice cream with chunks of real coconut cake in it, including the coconut frosting! I'd try making that.
That sounds amazing! I need to work on something like that!
