Growing up, milk came in three varieties. Of course, there was the plain old white milk.

That is what we drank with every meal. Then there was chocolate milk which was available for school lunches and special treats.

Every once in a while we saw strawberry milk, but it was a rare occasion. As a kid, it was always fun to get a flavored milk.

I suppose it was kind of like getting a melted milkshake. So, when I saw this recipe for banana milk, I knew we had to make it.

Apparently it has been a popular treat in Korean gas stations for a while. The internet got ahold of it made it got popular on TikTok too.

I love how easy it is to make. Just toss the bananas, some milk, water, maple syrup and vanilla into a blender and let’er rip.

You’ll be sipping on banana milk in just about 1 minute. That’s faster than going to the convenience store to get one!

Carlee’s Tips and Tricks

For a richer treat, you could use all milk instead of water. But the bananas add a nice rich creaminess to the mix and using water keeps the calories lower.

For a thicker, more milkshake-like texture, use chunks of frozen banana.

If you want to add some cinnamon or nutmeg, sprinkle a dash or two into the mix.

You can use non-dairy milks if you prefer.

You can add some protein powder or chia seeds if you want to.

That’s it, let’s get to the recipe and make some banana milk!

Banana Milk

Author: Carlee
Servings: 4 servings (1 quart)
This homemade banana milk recipe is made from just a few simple all-natural ingredients. It is a great way to turn ripe bananas into a creamy drink.
Prep: 2 minutes
Cook: 0 minutes
Total: 2 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup Water
  • 2 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Place all the ingredients in a blender, starting with the bananas, and blend on medium for 30 seconds.
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Notes

  • Banana milk is best served immediately. However, you can store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Shake well before serving.
  • Make sure your bananas are very ripe for the best flavor. Green or still very brightly yellow bananas don’t produce the rich banana flavor that makes this milk so amazing.
