What is this tangy ranch chicken like?
This tasty mustard ranch chicken is about as easy as it gets to make. The yellow sauce is like the perfect mix of honey mustard and ranch.
You use some as a marinade and reserve a little for when you are serving it. Don’t be surprised if your family licks up every last drop.
It may sound strange, but the sauce is made from just mustard, ranch dressing, and brown sugar. It is a mostly savory and tangy combination that has just a bit of sweet to balance it out.

Tips and Tricks
You can use any cut of chicken, just alter the cook times accordingly. Split chicken breasts would be lovely, so would drumsticks or thighs.
You use most of the mustard ranch sauce to marinate the chicken, but don’t put it all on the raw chicken. Save some fresh sauce to add when you are serving the chicken.
We like to brush the chicken with a little bit of it at the end of the grill time when we grill it. Then we keep a little bit more to dip our chicken in as we are eating it.
To bake, marinate the chicken in a casserole dish. Bake at 350F for about 25 minutes or until they test done with a meat thermometer.
For an easy slow cooker meal, cook the chicken in a crockpot on low for 4 hours. You can serve it as is or cook it a little bit longer and shred it.
The shredded chicken is delicious on a sandwich. Or serve it over rice or pasta with some of the reserved sauce drizzled over the top.
We served our grilled version with some sweet pasta salad and a green salad. It was the perfect summer meal.

Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- ⅔ cups ranch dressing
- ⅓ cup yellow mustard
- 3 Tablespoons brown sugar
Instructions

- Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken, ensuring it is all coated in the sauce. Cover and refrigerate for 2-8 hours.4 chicken breasts
- Cook using your preferred method until it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Serve with reserved sauce.
Pellet Grill Instructions
- Preheat pellet grill to 350°F.
- Cook for 15 minutes.
- Flip chicken and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature is about 150°F.
- Brush with some of the reserved sauce and cook for another 5-10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

This is soooo good! My daughter requests it frequently too! I never thought about the crockpot and shred, serve over rice. We’ll have to try that.
