Carlee’s Tips for Making a Red Velvet Cheese Ball

For ease of mixing, you can use a food processor or mixer.  However, you can also make this cheese ball by hand.

Just use a bigger bowl than you’d think, so you have plenty of room to work and be sure your cream cheese is really softened. Cold cream cheese will be much harder to incorporate without chunks.

Scoop the cheese ball mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap and gently wrap.  Use the plastic wrap to start shaping the ball.

For a heart shape, go ahead and roughly shape the cheese ball now. Then chill.

Once the cheese ball is chilled, remove from the refrigerator and reshape a bit.  It will hold its shape much better after it is chilled.

You can use shavings of white chocolate, white chocolate chips, regular chocolate chips and more to coat your cheese ball.  You can also serve it bare if you prefer to let the red show.

Have you ever made a sweet cheese ball?  What’s your favorite flavor?

Storage

If you have cheese ball leftover, just wrap it in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator. It will stay good for about a week.
