Making the cheese ball
Mix together 8 oz cream cheese, ½ cup butter, ½ cup powdered sugar, and 1 box red velvet cake mix until uniform.
Form into a ball (or heart!), wrap tightly in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour.
Roll ball in chocolate chips or press with chocolate shavings before serving.
Notes
This cheese ball is perfect served with animal crackers, Teddy Grahams, graham crackers, pretzels, fruit and more.
Take the cheese ball out of the refrigerator 20 minutes before serving for the best eating experience.
You can try this cheese ball with other cake mix flavors as well. Lemon cake mix would be good, so would strawberry or chocolate.
