Moose Farts

Moose farts are a sweet and delicious treat make from condensed milk, graham crackers, coconut, and chocolate chips. These Canadian treats may have a silly name, but their flavor is not messing around.

As we head into the Christmas season, my ovens are usually working overtime to get all of the Christmas cookies baked. So, it is nice to have a few no bake candy recipes in the mix.

Though, you certainly don’t have to wait until the holidays to make these fun balls of goodness. There isn’t anything overtly Christmas-y about them, that is just when I tend to make the most candies and cookie balls.

I had never heard of moose farts before, but I was instantly intrigued when I saw Mrs. Brown’s Kitchen make them on Facebook. First of all, there’s the name.

Who wouldn’t love eating a moose fart?! Okay, I do know a few folks that wouldn’t like it.

However, my brothers, son, niece, and nephew love bathroom humor. So, I knew they would be a hit with my most loyal customers. 😜

Plus, you know I love having a good excuse to make a new sweetened condensed milk recipe. That is what gives these balls their soft texture.

The recipe isn’t too different than my graham cookie bars, but in a no bake candy ball kind of treat. Those were a hit and I knew these would be too.

Store your sweetened condensed milk cans upside down

I like to store my cans of sweetened condensed milk upside down. Sometime there is a thick layer in the bottom of the can. If you store the can upside down, that goodness is on the lid instead of the bottom. That makes it much easier to scrape into your recipe rather than being wasted.

If you want to use gingersnap or Biscoff cookies instead of graham crackers, I think both would be delicious. You could also get away with adding some chopped nuts if that is your thing.

Let’s not waste any more time. You have to make these moose farts, your family and friends will love it if you do!

Signature that says Enjoy! Carlee.

My family loves these but I have to make them gluten-free. I process Cinnamon-flavored Chex cereal into crumbs and measured them the same as the graham cracker crumbs. With doing that, I found I could cut back the vanilla to 1 teaspoon. In fact I accidently omitted it completely with one batch and they still tasted great. My family is also a big fan of pecans, I reduce the coconut and chocolate chips to 1 cup each and added a cup of chopped pecans.
