Dill and Ranch Oyster Crackers

This ranch oyster cracker recipe is super simple to put together. The seasoned crackers are perfect for snacking, or use some on top of a bowl of soup or a salad for a pop of extra flavor and texture.

Cute little soup crackers coated in all of the ranch seasoning flavors we love are hard to resist. This recipe adds extra dill and a bit of garlic to make this easy snack recipe extra irresistible.

We found ourselves with several extra bags of oyster crackers in the pantry recently. We love having a few on hand for when we make a batch of clam chowder or chicken noodle soup, but I know they would go bad before we ever ate that many little crackers.

Ingredients: oyster crackers, ranch seasoning mix, garlic, dill and oil ready to be made into ranch soup crackers snack mix.

Luckily my family loves a good salty snack mix. So I thought it would be fun to make these tasty ranch flavored soup crackers to share with them.

They are perfect as an easy snack for a party. Just make a couple of batches and place bowls of them here and there throughout the event space.

People will find themselves snacking as they go and next thing you know, they will have polished them off! Or make some to munch on for movie night, game night and more.

They only take about 20 minutes to make and they can be made several days in advance if you want, so there really isn’t a time where they aren’t perfect. Whip up a batch to see for yourself.

Ranch Oyster Crackers

If you are looking for a fun and easy savory snack, dill and ranch oyster crackers are just the thing. They are perfect for snacking or you can put them on a bowl of soup to add some real pizzaz!
Prep: 3 minutes
Cook: 15 minutes
Total: 18 minutes

Equipment

Ingredients 

  • 1 ounce packet ranch dressing mix
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 to 16 ounces oyster crackers

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 250°F
  • In a large bowl, stir together ranch, dill, garlic and oil.
    1 ounce packet ranch dressing mix, ¼ cup vegetable oil, 2 teaspoon dried dill weed, ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pour the crackers into the bowl and toss until coated with the seasoning mixture.
    12 to 16 ounces oyster crackers
  • Spread in a rimmed baking sheet.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, stirring half way through.
  • Cool the seasoned crackers completely before storing in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Notes

You can use canola oil or another neutral flavored oil in place of the vegetable oil.

    So glad I found your recipe. I was almost going to follow the recipe on the packet of ranch seasoning – it called for 1 full cup of oil! That would have been so greasy and unhealthy. These are perfect.

      1. Can you substitute melted butter?

        1. I don’t see why not. I use butter for Chex mix and it works wonderfully. So, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for these.

  2. My late sister-in-law showed me this recipe many years ago and whenever I make them, I think of her and remember all the fun times we shared. These are great little crackers
