This recipe is one of those that only takes a few minutes to put together. Plus, the ingredients are simple.

In fact, there is a pretty good chance you already have the ingredients in your pantry and refrigerator. So, you can be ready to snack at any time!

We love the savory goodness of ranch oyster crackers. Sometimes, though, you just need a little something sweet.

Luckily, these cinnamon sugar crackers are just as easy to make. The crackers are coated in a cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter mixture.

Then they are baked until they are nice and crunchy. Finish them off with a little bit of extra cinnamon sugar, and life is good!

They kind of have a churro flavor with notes of caramel and cinnamon. However, they are so much easier to make and are perfect for munching on.

LD and I ate some of this batch while watching a movie. Then we enjoyed the rest on the road trip to his bike race.

Caramelized Cinnamon Sugar Oyster Crackers

Ingredients 

Caramelized Crackers

  • 9 ounces oyster crackers
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉
  • In a large skillet, melt together ½ cup unsalted butter, ½ cup light brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and ¼ teaspoon salt over medium heat.
  • Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and stir in the ½ teaspoon vanilla extract.
  • Add the 9 ounces oyster crackers and stir to coat.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
  • While the crackers are baking, stir together the 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar.
  • Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar mixture, tossing to coat.
  • Allow to cool completely before putting in an airtight container for storage.
