Caramelized Cinnamon Sugar Oyster Crackers

Ingredients
Caramelized Crackers
9
ounces
oyster crackers
½
cup
unsalted butter
½
cup
light brown sugar
packed
1
teaspoon
ground cinnamon
¼
teaspoon
salt
½
teaspoon
vanilla extract
Cinnamon Sugar
1
teaspoon
ground cinnamon
1
Tablespoon
granulated sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350℉
In a large skillet, melt together
½ cup unsalted butter
,
½ cup light brown sugar
,
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
and
¼ teaspoon salt
over medium heat.
Continue to cook, stirring frequently, until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes.
Turn off the heat and stir in the
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
.
Add the
9 ounces oyster crackers
and stir to coat.
Bake for 10 minutes, stirring once halfway through.
While the crackers are baking, stir together the
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
and
1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle on the cinnamon sugar mixture, tossing to coat.
Allow to cool completely before putting in an airtight container for storage.
