Yogurt with fruit and granola is a favorite treat around here. It is a perfect quick breakfast, easy snack or healthier dessert option.

About the recipe

With all of the fresh berries, we have been back on a yogurt bowl kick. You know we love our toasted maple cinnamon granola, but sometimes it is fun to try something else.

That is how this peanut butter granola came to be. It is a fun change of texture and flavors from our normal recipes.

Of course peanut butter and honey go really well together, so we used honey to sweeten it up. Cinnamon seems like a granola must have so there is a bit in here as well.

We added some ground flax seed for added nutrition and fiber. The resulting granola tasted a lot like a peanut butter cookie!

Things to know about this granola

This recipe results in a chewier texture than most of our other granola recipes. That chew reminds me of a cookie in addition to the flavor.

We really enjoyed it just the way it is written. However, if you are looking for a crispier granola there are options to adjust the recipe.

You can start by toasting the oatmeal before you use it. Just put it on a sheet pan in a 350°F oven for 10-15 minutes to get it extra toasty, then follow the recipe as written.

You can also cut the honey in half and use brown sugar to replace it. That will help to reduce the moisture in the mix.

Feel free to use maple syrup instead of honey. Maple and peanut butter taste amazing together as well.

Be sure to cool the granola completely before putting it in an airtight container for storage. Then store it at room temperature for up to a week.

Pop the airtight container of granoka in the freezer for longer storage, up to three months. You can use it straight from the freezer to add extra cold crunch to your yogurt parfaits.
