Glass jar filled with ice and lime shake up mixture with extra lime halves and straws nearby.

If you love out lemon shake-up recipe, get ready to fall in love all over again. This lime version is just as good and it is fun to switch it up a bit.

The lime just brings a little bit of something different to the party which makes it exciting. In a similar way to cherry limeade or Brazilian limeade, these lime shake-ups are absolutely fabulous with their sweet, tart, and bitter notes.

The best part is you can make the drink right in the container that you plan to serve it in. We usually use glass mason jars at home.

If you are making them for a crowd, use quart sized deli containers. After you are done shaking them, punch a hole in the lid for a straw and you are good to go!

You can adjust the sugar amount to suit your preferences. Sugar replacement works as well, but you’ll need to test those amounts based on the brand and type you’re using.

Storage

If you want to make a big batch, or can’t drink it all at once, store the extras in the fridge, without the lime chunks, for up to 3 days. Freeze in the same way, for up to 3 months.

Keeping the lime chunks in the drink can make it extra bitter over time.

Please promise me that you will add this to your summer drink rotation. Of course, the adults can spike it as well if they are so inclined.
