Creamy junk yard salad is part fruit salad, part fluffy dessert. It is filled with cherries, blueberries, pineapple, sweetened condensed milk and more. This vintage treat is perfect for picnics, potlucks, and more!

If you are a fan of fluff salads, you are going to love this junk yard fruit salad. It is light and creamy with plenty of fruit.

Plus, it is super simple to make. You can keep it in the fridge and snack on it for several days.

Or, make it for a BBQ or summer party. Just put the bowl in a larger bowl with some ice to help keep it cold.

You know we will happily enjoy this as a side dish in the Midwest. I mean it is kind of a fruit salad, right?

Though it also works as a great no bake dessert. It isn’t too heavy so is perfect for warmer weather.

I found a few variations of this recipe when I was looking for ideas on Pinterest. The name had me intrigued.

I guess I love food with fun names, like stupid pie. Most of the junk yard salad recipes and pictures were obviously artificial intelligence though, so I was dubious at best.

After some digging, I was able to find some older recipes and pictures that confirmed humans have actually made it. So, I decided to go for it.

One of the AI recipes had blueberries in the picture, and that sounded like a great idea. So, I went ahead and added them to mine too.

They were delicious and gave it kind of a red, white, and blue vibe. Though, I suppose it is more pink than white.

If you love vintage salads, be sure to check out the frog eye salad. It is another one with a fun name and fun fruity flavor.

You may also like cherry pineapple jello salad. It has similar flavors without the creamy fluff.

  1. I have family visiting in June. Will definitely be making this. Actually I’ll probably be making this delicious dessert before then.

We have this for holiday meals and call it Pink Fluff Salad. The only difference is we don’t put blueberries in it. Yum!

    1. They do add a nice pop of freshness, but it would be fabulous either way!

This is a very good salad. It is a recipe we have inherited from my mother. We have made this salad for years. Instead of using the blueberries I use drained canned mandarin oranges, and I add coconut. It is so good.
