Delicious 4 ingredient honeyed pecans are extra tasty candied nuts. They are a perfect snack on their own or as a topping for so many things.

Make candied pecans with the golden goodness of honey cooked right in.  This recipe is super simple to make. There are only 4 ingredients and you can have it done in less than 15 minutes.

Then you will be ready to snack to your heart’s content. Or use your honeyed pecans as a garnish for salads, breakfasts or desserts.

Candied nuts are such a simple way to elevate a dish. Want to take your bowl of oatmeal to the next level? Top it with golden pecans.

Do you want to make your salad sing? Add candied pecans!

They are a fabulous addition to salads like a fall dinner salad with apples, cranberries and blue cheese.  Candied pecans also take a fruit and chicken salad with poppy seed dressing to the next level.

MiMi originally shared this recipe with us back in 2015.  She made a pumpkin slab pie and put a honeyed pecan on top of the dollop of whipped cream.

They sat like glistening jewels on top of their perch.  Not to mention they tasted amazing with the pumpkin and cream.

I thought it would be fun to whip up another batch today. So it seemed like an excellent time to remind you about these little gems as well.

Make them this Christmas season as a fabulous way to set your dishes apart.  Sometimes you just need that one little extra special something to take a meal from good to great. These can be that something.

Mimi’s Original Post From 2015:

I came up with these to go with Steve’s birthday Pumpkin Pie. When grandma told me that he wanted a pumpkin pie I couldn’t believe my ears.

Is this the same guy we helped crack pecans so he would make us a wonderful fresh pecan pie? Ok, then grandma.

I’ll make him that pumpkin pie but we must top it with pecans. I was going to make spiced pecans, but decided that I didn’t want to take away from the spice combo in the pie.

Pecans, salt and honey sounded perfect. I guess it tasted perfect too. At least a couple of people said so.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 17 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups pecan halves
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/3 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Stir together the pecans, oil and salt. Spread on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 7 minutes.
  3. While the pecans are toasting, bring the honey to a boil over medium heat in a medium saucepan.
  4. Add the baked pecans to the boiling honey and stir to coat for a minute or two.
  5. Let cool slightly, then spread on a piece of parchment paper (or wax paper) to cool and dry. Make sure to do this while they are still warm otherwise they will stick together. Allow to cool completely.

These sound delicious and look really easy to make. My mother has pecan trees and keeps me supplied with pecans. I will have to try these with one of the bags I have in the freezer. Bet the hubby would love them. Thanks for sharing! Pinning!
