A proper party deserves a punch. This fun slushy punch is a perfect excuse to get out the punch bowl.

It is popular with kids and adults alike. It has the perfect balance of sweet and tangy and keep you cool and happy.

We love making punch at a party.  A lot of times we end up making a large batch of sherbet punch in a large beverage dispenser.

It all started with aloha punch and we have made a lot of different variations from there. We’ve done pink sherbet punch and green sherbet punch as well.

But sometimes you just have to break out the punch bowl.  There is something extra fun about getting out the ladle and pouring it into cute little glass punch cups.

This recipe comes from my grandma. It is in our little family recipe book.  It works out perfectly because I just so happen to have one of her punch bowls as well.

The punch is perfect for a party because the mixing and measuring is done in advance.  You freeze the whole thing in a gallon ice cream bucket then serve it while it is still slushy.  Yum!

A least a few households in my family keeps and gallon ice cream container on hand just for making punch.  It was time for me to break out my empty ice cream bucket again!

Hey Carlee! I know it’s not the time of year for this, but it caught my eye right away!! I’ve done some of these types of slushy punches way back when, but this sounds particularly tasty!! I love your new blog set up!

    1. Thank you! I am really happy with how it turned out. And yes to all of the slushy punches (especially once it warms up some!)

  2. Hi I want to make this punch for baby shower. Do you have any suggestions on other containers or ways I could use to freeze this.

    1. You could freeze it in smaller containers if you want. Even 4 quart sized jars would work. If you have wide mouth, I would use those so that it can slide out more easily. Otherwise if you have any larger tupperware containers, they would work too.

Can I add champagne to this punch? Would I replace soda?

    1. That would be fun! Yes, I would use the champagne in place of the soda.

  4. I haven’t made this yet, but your post made me nostalgic. Missing my family and especially my mother in law who made a similar punch. My mother had a pretty pink punch bowl with pretty pink cups. It was used at Christmas and New Years. Thank you for the recipe and the trip down memory lane.
