MiMi and I were tossing around ideas as to what would make the perfect fall butter for our Thanksgiving rolls. We looked at a bunch of different recipes and none of them quite met our needs.
We wanted something easy to make with flavors that screamed fall. We wanted it to be a little sweet, but not so sweet that it turned the roll into dessert rather than a side.
Boy did we ever find a great solution! This butter will be right at home spread on a homemade roll (that recipe is coming Monday!) and nestled between your turkey and your cranberry sauce.

You can serve it spreadable like this or make it into a log wrapped in saran wrap and refrigerate until hard and serve as slices. I like the spreadable version a little better, though the slices would look really pretty on your Thanksgiving table!
If you are looking for fabulous ways to get cranberries on the table without opening a can, check out my recipe for cranberry applesauce. It is great as a Thanksgiving side dish, but is also wonderful at breakfast on its own or stirred into oatmeal, or served with pork and chicken too!

Orange Cranberry Butter
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/3 cup chopped dried cranberries
- 3 Tablespoons honey
- 2 Tablespoons orange juice
Instructions:
- Chop the cranberries and soak in orange juice for at least 5 minutes (though longer would be even better.)
- Cream together the butter and honey. Mix in cranberries.
- That’s it!
