If you like sweet biscuits for shortcakes, this is the recipe for you. They are buttery, lightly sweet, and delicious. Add fruit and whipped cream or ice cream (or both!) for a super tasty dessert.
1-2Tablespoonsgranulated sugarfor sprinkling on top
Instructions
Preheat oven to 475℉.
Mix together milk and vinegar and chill in the fridge for five minutes.
Place dry ingredients in the food processor. Pulse a couple of times to combine.
Add the cold butter. Pulse until mixture becomes coarse crumbs, about 22 pulses
Stir in milk and vinegar mixture. Pulse until the dough just comes together
Knead the dough 3-4 times on a lightly floured surface. It's ok if it is slightly sticky, but should feel like a nice dough. Add more flour or a splash of milk if needed to get the right consistency.
Pat into a 7x10 rectangle. Cut biscuits using a 3 inch cutter and place 2 inches apart on a baking pan.
Brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake on the top shelf of your oven for 14-17 minutes.
