Pizza burger sliders have big pizza flavor, gooey cheese and a slightly crisp garlic bread style exterior. They are a fun dinner or game day appetizer.
Season 1 pound lean ground beef with ¼ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper and brown until cooked through. Add 14 oz. pizza sauce and cook for a minute or two to thicken.
Cut 12 dinner rolls in half across the equator. Set the top of the rolls aside, place the bottoms in the greased pan.
Spread meat and sauce mixture over the bottom half of the rolls. Arrange 4 oz. sliced mozzarella over the meat. Place the top of the rolls over the filling to form sandwiches.
Melt 2 Tablespoons butter and stir in ½ teaspoon garlic salt. Brush over rolls.
Cover the pan with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for 5 more minutes.
Notes
You can also use ground pork, venison, or turkey in place of the beef.
Feel free to add other favorite pizza toppings to the mix if you would like.
