It is time to take your breakfast to the next level with this peanut butter and jelly french toast recipe. It combines two childhood favorites into one extra special treat.
Spread one side of four of the brioche slices with the raspberry jam, then spread the remaining slices with the peanut butter.
Assemble your four peanut butter jelly sandwiches.
In a large dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
Heat the butter in a large frying pan on a medium heat.
Dip a sandwich into the egg mixture, coating it well on both sides.
Once the pan is hot, fry the sandwich until golden on the bottom (about 3 minutes). Then, flip and cook on the other side for another 3 minutes. You should be able to fit two sandwiches in the pan at once.
Drain any excess butter from the French toast on some kitchen paper.
Slice each French toast sandwich in half.
Serve with some chopped peanuts, fresh raspberries, and your favorite syrup if desired.
Notes
You can also switch out the jelly for your favorite variety such as strawberry, cherry, or grape. Though using brioche is recommended for the best flavor and texture, standard white bread can also work well.Storage: This peanut butter jelly French toast is best enjoyed freshly made, but if you do have any leftovers, you can store them in the fridge for up to two days. To reheat, pop them in the air fryer or oven until warmed through and crisped up. You can also warm them up in a skillet over low heat. A microwave will also warm them up, but you will lose the crisp on the exterior.
