This fun sweet Chex mix is flavored with maple, cinnamon, and brown sugar. It cooks in the Crockpot, so you don't have to give up the oven space. You can use red and green M&Ms like we did for Christmas, or use colors to match any occasion.
Put the 2 cups Cheerios, 4 cups Chex cereal, 2 cups salted cocktail peanuts, and 2 cups mini pretzels twists in the Crockpot.
Melt the ½ cup butter in a small bowl. Stir in the ½ cup light brown sugar, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ cup maple syrup, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
Pour the butter mixture into the slow cooker and gently toss to coat.
Place your lid on the slow cooker but at a slight angle so it is not completely closed. (Alternatively put a paper towel under the lid to help absorb any excess liquid.)
Cook on low for 2-3 hours stirring every 30 minutes or so to make sure it does not stick.
Pour the Chex mix onto a piece of wax paper or parchment paper. Sprinkle with 1 cup M&Ms and 1 cup white chocolate chips.
Cool completely before transferring to a storage container. This Chex mix can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Notes
Rice Chex or Corn Chex are perfect for this mix. You can also use one of the flavored varieties, like cinnamon, if you would like. Regular or Honey Nut Cheerios also work. Feel free to use your favorite mix of cereals and nuts.Change up the candies to match the occasion.
