Making homemade orange marmalade is much easier than you think. This 5 ingredient recipe is so tasty and the citrus really pops. You can taste the freshness and you will love it!
Cut the ends off the 4 medium oranges, then cut them into eighths.
Add the orange pieces to a food processor and pulse them until they are finely minced.
Add the minced oranges, 2 Tablespoons lemon juice, 1 Tablespoon lemon zest, 4 cups granulated sugar, and ⅓ cup water to a medium or large sauce pot.
On medium, heat the mixture, stirring frequently, until you hit 220℉. Continue to let it simmer at that temperature for 2 minutes. (You can put a small amount on a frozen plate to check the consistency to make sure you have it where you want it.)
Remove from heat, let cool for a couple of minutes.
Spoon into clean jars and put lids on.
Let sit on the counter until it reaches room temperature. Retighten lids.
Place in the fridge overnight. Enjoy!
Notes
Homemade marmalade can be stored in the fridge for a couple of weeks or frozen for several months. Try to avoid oranges with a really thick pith as it may give a bitter aftertaste. If your marmalade is too thick, you can put it in a saucepan over medium heat and stir in a little bit of water to get it to the consistency you want.
