Instructions
Fill a large pot with water and let it come to a boil. Add the 8 ounces lo mein noodles. Cook the noodles according to the package. Add the 3 cups broccoli florets about halfway through. Once the noodles are done, drain both the noodles and broccoli and set aside.
In a small bowl, stir together the 3 cloves garlic, 2 Tablespoons hoisin sauce, ¼ cup soy sauce, ¼ cup light brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon ground ginger, ½ teaspoon ground black pepper and ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes.
Add the 2 Tablespoons neutral cooking oil, 1 large carrot and 8 ounces thinly sliced beef to a large skillet. Cook on a medium to high heat for 5-8 minutes or until the steak is cooked to your liking.
Add the broccoli and noodles on top of the steak and stir, add the sauce to the pan and stir until it’s fully coated.
Sprinkle with chopped scallions and/or sesame seeds on top and serve and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
You can drizzle a chili sauce over top for extra spice!
Freeze the steak and let it thaw halfway through so it’s easier to slice into thin strips!
You can use frozen broccoli just steam in the microwave beforehand instead of boiling it.
