Ingredients

softened butter
½
cup
shortening

cup
granulated sugar

large eggs
2
teaspoons
vanilla extract
3
cups
all purpose flour
2
teaspoons
cream of tartar
1
teaspoon
baking soda
Pinch
salt
2
teaspoons
maple extract
optional
Topping

tablespoons
granulated sugar
1
tablespoon
ground cinnamon
or pumpkin spice
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13” baking dish by lining it with parchment paper or spraying with cooking spray.
Cream together butter, shortening and sugar for 2 minutes.
Add eggs, vanilla and maple extracts.
Blend for one minute.
Add cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and flour.
Mix until well blended.
Spread the dough into the prepared pan.
Stir together cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle over the top of the dough..
Bake for about 23 to 27 minutes, or until a tooth pick inserted comes out mostly clean.
Cool completely before cutting into squares and enjoying.
