This chocolate pecan pie bars recipe combines melty chocolate with rich, gooey pecan pie filling and a buttery shortbread crust. They’re easier to make than a traditional pie, perfect for holiday dessert tables, and taste like a cross between pecan pie and a brownie. Every bite is packed with crunchy pecans, sweet brown sugar filling, and chocolaty goodness.
Preheat the oven to 350°. Line a 9x13-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving the edges hanging over the edge.
In a large bowl, mix together 1 cup unsalted butter, 2 cups all-purpose flour, ½ cup powdered sugar, and ¼ teaspoon salt until a dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Bake the crust for 15 minutes and then remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
While the crust is baking and cooling, start the filling. Stir together 3 large eggs, 1 cup light corn syrup, ¾ cup light brown sugar, ¼ cup unsalted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and ¼ teaspoon salt in a medium mixing bowl.
Stir in 2 cups chopped pecans and 1½ cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips.
Pour the filling over the warm crust and spread evenly. Return to the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the center is mostly set with just a slight wobble when shaken.
Let the bars cool completely before slicing. Lift the bars out of the baking dish by lifting the parchment paper out for easy cutting.
Notes
Keep extra bars in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Freeze for longer storage.
