This one bowl chocolate daffy cake recipe is hard to beat. The batter is simple to put together and the cake is wonderful. Add the chocolate frosting for a fabulous classic dessert.
Preheat oven to 350℉. Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan or two 9-inch round cake pans.
In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups all-purpose flour, 2 cups granulated sugar, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 2 teaspoons salt, and 6 Tablespoons cocoa powder.
Add ¾ cup vegetable oil, ¼ cup apple cider vinegar, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, and 2 cups cold water. Mix well until completely combined.
Pour into prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes. The cake is done when it springs back when lightly touched with a finger or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
Cool the cake completely before frosting.
