If you make a batch of this creamy homemade chocolate peanut butter ice cream, you are sure to be a superhero in your house. The best part is the chocolate ice cream base comes together in just a few minutes. The bits of peanut butter make it extra good!
Place small dollops (about the size of a gumball) of peanut butter on a wax paper lined baking sheet. Chop peanut butter cups and toss on the sheet as well. Freeze until ready to mix them in.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar and cocoa powder until combined and lump free. Add the milk and whisk until the sugar is dissolved. You can use an immersion blender or hand mixer if you want.
Stir in the cream and salt.
Churn in ice cream maker according to the machine's instructions.
When the ice cream is done churning, either fold in the frozen peanut butter and peanut butter cups or toss them in and let the ice cream maker distribute them for you.
Transfer to storage containers and freeze at least 2 hours or until ready to eat.
