This cookies and cream cheese ball is the perfect dessert for your next tailgate or party. Of course you can do it as a ball, or even a dip in a bowl, but it is most fun shaped as a football with laces piped on. You can use a variety of dippers as well. We like chocolate sandwich cookies, graham crackers and even pretzels! Fruit would be great as well.
additional cookies, graham crackers, pretzels etc. for serving
Instructions
Either finely chop 12 of the Oreos or pulse them into small pieces in your food processor.
In food processor or mixer, blend cream cheese, butter and chocolate syrup.
Blend in powdered sugar and then stir in finely chopped sandwich cookies.
Roll into a ball and wrap in plastic wrap.
Refrigerate at least 1 hour.
Chop remaining sandwich cookies. Then shape cheese ball into a football and coat with bits of sandwich cookies. Press them in to secure.
Use white icing or melted white chocolate to form laces.
Serve with pretzels, grahams, small cookies etc.
Notes
To make a simple icing, just mix together about a half cup of powdered sugar with a drop or two of vanilla and a teaspoon or two of milk. Add a drop or two more milk at a time until it forms a thick paste. Place it in a plastic bag and snip a small piece off the corner. Use that to pipe the laces on the cheese ball and cookies.Use the chocolate syrup like you use to make chocolate milk or as an ice cream topping. It is usually found near the ice cream toppings in the grocery store.
