Skillet Biscuit Bread

If you love homemade biscuits, but hate the process, this pone bread is for you. Also known as skillet biscuit bread, it tastes like a big biscuit but requires half of the effort.


Milk  Vinegar  Flour  Butter  Lard or Shortening  Baking Powder  Salt  Sugar

Cut butter and lard or shortening into dry ingredients.

Stir in the soured milk until it forms a slightly sticky dough. Spread in skillet (or pie plate or cake pan.)

Bake until golden brown.

Cool for 5-10 minutes and then slice and serve. It is best served warm.
